Production Ovens
The range of production ovens (VLCO) was introduced in 1993 as an addition to the Genlab range. Primarily intended for the plastics industry, it was soon realised that the versatility and robust heavy duty construction made the VLCO‘s suitable for any type of industry where the use of heat treatment is a necessary part of the manufacturing process.
Constructed from heavy duty mild steel tubular framework, insulated with high density rocksil, and finished with a hard wearing epoxy powder coat, the modular design means the ovens can be modified to suit most customer requirements.
The VLCO range begins at 1,000 litres, and has the following specifications as standard
- Simple p.i.d. digital controller
- Independent overheat protection
- Mechanical convection
- Aluclad interior or stainless steel as option
- Fully C.E compliant
- Double door opening
- Side mounted controls and fans
- All electric’s and fans are contained within the framework
- Temp range from 50ºc to 250ºc
- Temp fluctuation < + - 2ºc and temp variation < + - 5ºc (all testing is done on an empty chamber, measuring air temperatures only)
The specification can be augmented by adding a variety of non-standard features, including: - programmable controllers, chart recorders, process timers, etc. In addition to the electrical modifications we can offer a wide variety of shelving configurations, and trolleys.
All construction and testing is done on Genlab premises, and we offer calibration and temperature profile certification to NAMAS standards.
The interest generated by the introduction of the VLCO range has meant a dramatic upturn in levels of production at Genlab, and we are currently supplying ovens to every area of industry, including the medical field and research and development, as well as large batch production ovens.
We aim at supplying five main areas of industry and these are: - plastics and rubber, automotive, aerospace, medical and industrial. Following is a small sample of customers we have supplied.

Because of the diverse nature of heat treatment many of the ovens we produce deviate from the standard product. To ensure the customers’ needs are met economically and practically we have developed a highly experienced and technically aware team of people to assist the customer in every aspect of their project, from the initial quote, to final installation, including on site training, if necessary. It is because of this attention to detail, and complete customer satisfaction that the majority of our customers return to Genlab for further ovens.
