BACKGROUND
Formed in 1961, the company employs approximately 40 people at its premises in Widnes, Cheshire, England.
In January 1993 a management buy out / buy in of the company was arranged. Current turnover is around £2 million.
PRODUCTS
GENLAB designs and manufactures ovens, incubators and associated thermal products for laboratory, workshop and general commercial applications. An extensive standard range of equipment is offered from 6 litres upwards to meet most requirements, providing a quality product at very competitive prices. All the ovens in the Genlab range are manufactured in the United Kingdom. The products are sold internationally.
In addition to the standard range, to enable the company to satisfy the wide range of customer requirements a Custom Build service is also available. The largest Custom Built oven supplied to date being a unit measuring 3.5m x 3.5m x 6.5m.
Large custom build industrial ovens have been supplied to prestigious companies in the automotive, aerospace, medical, plastic and rubber and general industrial sectors.
For example three ovens were installed for the production of the bonded aluminium chassis used by the Lotus Elise sports car and the Aston Martin DB9. Most of the F! teams have purchased Genlab ovens for composite curing. Ferrari purchased 2 for their mobile workshop.
DELIVERY
The standard delivery time is 3 to 4 weeks, however when the customer has an urgent requirement the company will endeavour to meet tight time scales to ensure customer satisfaction.
QUALITY
The Company commitment to quality was recognised in September 1994 when the GENLAB Quality Management System achieved Registration to ISO 9001.
ENVIRONMENT
Genlab’s Commitment to the environment has led to research being carried out on a new range of units with improved efficiency and significantly reduced environmental impact.
